Saint Thomas Aquinas
                      STUDENT COUNCIL

The purpose of the Council shall be to:

1. Strive for good citizenship.

2. Respect all individuals in the school and community.

3. Involve all students in sharing ideas to make our school the best it can be.

4. Help all students work together in our school.

5. Give all students practice in democracy in action.

6. Help other citizens and groups in our community.

Members learn to hold elections, set up a calendar of events, set goals and run meetings.
The officers are elected in a school wide election where students actually campaign, make posters and give speeches. The student body vote sfor the slate of officers.

Officers and Room Representatives

2009-2010

The student council helps students learn about democracy and good citizenship as they set their goals and rules for behavior. The members come up with new ideas for projects, activities and events; they learn and follow standard rules of parliamentary procedure; they set a good example of behavior in and out of school; and they maintain good grades.
